A Chinese young woman has been murdered in an apartment in Kalubowila.

Kohuwala Police state that a foreign young woman residing in the 'Kent Residence' apartment complex on Peiris Mawatha, Kalubowila, has been stabbed to death with a sharp weapon. The victim of this crime, reported today (23), is a Chinese woman approximately twenty-six years old.

Acting on special information received via the police emergency hotline, officers immediately went to the apartment and discovered the body during their inspection. Accordingly, the police arrived at the crime scene and promptly commenced preliminary investigations.

According to information revealed by police investigations conducted so far, officers strongly suspect that the murder was committed by the deceased woman's ex-boyfriend. He is also a Chinese national, and authorities have confirmed that the suspect has already fled the area and is in hiding after committing the stabbing.

The exact motive for this murder has not yet been revealed. Kohuwala Police have already launched an extensive investigation to apprehend the fleeing Chinese suspect.
