The nominees for the 18th ESPNcricinfo Awards (ESPNcricinfo Awards 2025), held to recognize outstanding performances in cricket in 2024, have now been announced. These evaluations were carried out by a twenty-two-member jury including Ian Bishop, Shane Bond, Tom Moody, and Farveez Maharoof.

Sri Lanka's Charith Asalanka, Australia's Josh Inglis, Afghanistan's Ibrahim Zadran, New Zealand's Rachin Ravindra, and India's Rohit Sharma have been nominated for the Men's ODI Batting awards. Asalanka, who came to the crease in a difficult situation with 3 wickets down for 30 runs in the first ODI against Australia in Colombo, fought a lone battle to score 127 runs, accounting for nearly 60% of the team's total of 214. Additionally, Josh Inglis' unbeaten 120 runs off 86 balls while chasing a target of 352 against England in the Champions Trophy in Lahore, and Ibrahim Zadran's 177 runs off 146 balls against England in the same tournament, have also been nominated for this year's awards. Rachin Ravindra's 108 runs against South Africa in the Champions Trophy semi-final and Rohit Sharma's innings of 76 runs, including a quickfire 47 off 35 balls while chasing a target of 252 in the final, are also included in this list.

The players nominated under the Men's Test Batting category are Aiden Markram, Shubman Gill, Temba Bavuma, Travis Head, and Justin Greaves. This includes South Africa's Aiden Markram's 136 runs against Australia while chasing a target of 282 in the World Test Championship final, as well as India's Shubman Gill's massive innings of 269 runs against England in Birmingham. Temba Bavuma's unbeaten 55 runs against India on a spin-friendly pitch in Kolkata, Travis Head's quickfire 123 runs off 83 balls against England in Perth, and West Indies player Justin Greaves' unbeaten 202 runs against New Zealand in Christchurch, batting for nearly ten hours, have been recognized as exceptional Test innings at this year's awards ceremony.

This year, the Test bowling category has been completely dominated by fast bowlers. Pat Cummins, who took 6 wickets for 28 runs against South Africa in the World Test Championship final, and Kagiso Rabada, who took 4 wickets for 59 runs against Australia, are at the forefront. Mohammed Siraj, who took 5 wickets for 104 runs against England to give India a thrilling victory, Mitchell Starc, who took 7 wickets for 58 runs against England in Perth, and Marco Jansen, who took 6 wickets for 48 runs against India in Guwahati, are also among the nominees in the Test bowling category.

The performances of four out of the five nominated players in the Men's ODI Bowling category are based on the Champions Trophy tournament. This includes Afghanistan's Azmatullah Omarzai, who took 5 wickets for 58 runs against England in Lahore, and New Zealand's Matt Henry, who took 5 wickets for 42 runs against India in Dubai. Additionally, Indian spin bowlers Varun Chakravarthy and Kuldeep Yadav have also been nominated. Varun Chakravarthy's performance of taking 5 wickets for 42 runs against New Zealand, as well as Kuldeep Yadav's bowling, which created a turning point in the final by taking 2 wickets for 40 runs, have been recognized here. The only player on this list outside the Champions Trophy tournament is West Indies' Jayden Seales, who took 6 wickets for 18 runs against Pakistan.
