Dayasiri Calls for Suspension of SLFP Bank Account

Former General Secretary of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) and Member of Parliament, Mr. Dayasiri Jayasekara, stated that a written request has been made to the Suduwella branch of People's Bank to temporarily suspend the inactive bank account of the party, as the Sri Lanka Freedom Party currently does not recognize the Election Commission.

He pointed out that the Sri Lanka Freedom Party is currently facing several legal issues. The MP emphasized that the party has been unable to contest any elections for many years, and if these legal actions continue, there is a risk of the party becoming alienated from the people.

Furthermore, Mr. Dayasiri Jayasekara accused a group that has forcibly occupied the Sri Lanka Freedom Party headquarters of misusing party funds. He stated that this is a serious harm to party members and urged all party members to remain vigilant about this situation.
