Dasun Shanaka Confirmed as T20I Captain

Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) Chief Selector Pramodya Wickramasinghe has confirmed that Dasun Shanaka will continue to serve as the captain of the Sri Lanka T20 International team until the conclusion of the 2026 ICC Men's T20 World Cup.

Speaking after his appointment as the Chief Selector, Mr. Wickramasinghe stated that the previous selection committee had already finalized a 25-member squad for the 2026 World Cup.

He further added that the current selection committee has decided to carry forward the same squad without any changes.

This decision marks a continuity in leadership and selection strategy as Sri Lanka builds towards the 2026 global tournament.
