17-Year-Old Dies After Wall Collapse in Jaffna

A 17-year-old youth has died after a wall collapsed on him while he was engaged in the demolition of a house in Jaffna. The incident, which saw a wall on one side collapse during the demolition of another part of the house, has caused great shock in the area.

The young man who lost his life has been identified as Ravichandran Dilakshan, a resident of Viswamadu, Mullaitivu.

The youth, who had come to Jaffna in search of work due to poverty, was engaged in the demolition of an old house in the Kurunagar - Pashayoor area yesterday (December 1).

At the time of the incident, after a wall on one side of the house was demolished, it was on the verge of collapsing. Therefore, the youth ran into a room to save himself.

At that moment, another wall collapsed onto his body, killing Ravichandran Dilakshan instantly at the scene.
