Serious allegations have emerged that a significant number of questions from this year's G.C.E. Advanced Level Economics examination paper were provided to students in advance by a tuition teacher at the Nugegoda Sakya Institute. According to the National Teachers' Movement and Member of Parliament Chamara Sampath Dasanayake, information has been revealed that 27 out of 50 multiple-choice questions in the first paper and

5 out of 10 essay questions in the second paper of this year's examination match the model paper of the said teacher verbatim.

Member of Parliament Chamara Sampath Dasanayake revealed this in a special statement made in Parliament, and as evidence, he tabled the official government examination paper and the question paper provided to the students of the relevant tuition class. The MP urged education authorities and the Prime Minister to conduct a formal investigation into this incident, stating that if true, it would be a fatal blow to the credibility of the entire examination system.

The MP strongly pointed out that this situation causes severe injustice to children in difficult areas such as Badulla, Monaragala, Mahiyanganaya, and Dombagahawela, who cannot attend the Nugegoda Sakya Institute. He emphasized that the concept of 'education for all' completely collapses when only a group of students from one area receives exam questions in advance, thereby depriving rural children of a fair chance to succeed in the examination.

The National Teachers' Movement is also questioning the authorities about the identity of the invisible hand within the government that is protecting this tuition teacher, who was able to predict the exam paper with such accuracy.

Regarding the leak of this examination paper, the Department of Examinations has already lodged a complaint with the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), and investigations are currently underway.
