“Sir, You’re Not Flying Tonight!” – Chamara Ranawaka’s Airport Drama Unfolds at Katunayake

Popular singer Chamara Ranawaka was forcibly removed from a SriLankan Airlines flight bound for Dubai on the night of the 10th, after allegedly boarding the aircraft under the influence of alcohol and arguing with the flight crew.

According to reliable airport sources, the singer — who had been scheduled to perform at a musical show in Dubai — appeared intoxicated upon boarding. Soon after, he became involved in a heated exchange of words with flight attendants. The situation escalated to such an extent that the captain decided he could not be allowed to continue on the flight and informed airport authorities accordingly.

Following the captain’s report, airport security and immigration officials escorted Ranawaka off the aircraft. His departure clearance was cancelled, and after standard questioning, he was released later that night.

A check on his Facebook page revealed that Ranawaka had conducted a live video from Katunayake Airport earlier that evening. The next morning, he posted a note quoting:

“You have flaws, I have flaws. There are no perfect humans in this world.”

The episode has since drawn wide attention, with many observing how a planned overseas performance turned into an unexpected public spectacle, leaving both fans and airline staff shaken by the night’s events.
