Malaysian tourist Farah Putri Mulyani, currently on holiday in Sri Lanka, became an unexpected hero at Diyaluma Waterfall when she rescued a local man from drowning. Video footage captured on her personal camera reveals his friends urgently calling for help after he slipped into the deep end of the waterfall pool.
In the dramatic footage, Farah is seen diving into the water and successfully bringing the man safely to shore, where his friends quickly assisted him away from the scene.
Later, Farah took to social media to share her experience and warn others about the potential dangers at waterfalls. "This incident completely changed the tone of my trip. People need to be aware of waterfall hazards—the pool can suddenly drop to dangerous depths, and without a supportive current, it can be extremely perilous, especially if you're not a strong swimmer. I've been reflecting on this ever since," she explained.
