S.B. Nawinna from UNP and Viyalendran from TNO ... for Mahinda

S.B. Nawinna of UNP and S. Vyalendran of Tamil National Organisation who indicated that in order to strengthen Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa took their oaths as ministers in the new regime.

S.B. Nawinna had been with Mahinda Rajapaksa's government previously and when the government toppled in 2015 he switched over to the UNP and there were talks that he would once again switching over to this party. S. Vyalendran of Tamil National Organisation would have his name written in

history as the MP who has left his political party and switched over to another political party to give support to the new party.

S.B. Nawinna has taken his oaths as minister of Cultural Affairs, Internal Affairs and Regional Development and S. Vyalendran of Tamil National Organisation has taken his oaths as deputy minister of Eastern Development, it was reported.
