Narahenpita traffic cop shouts out saying "video fines" taboo ... and hits phone!
A video is circulating around the internet these days which indicates an incident where 2 traffic constables in Narahenpita area who were present there had been getting ready to impose a fine on a motor cyclist after stopping him, allegedly for violating traffic rules. At that moment the motorist brings out an counter-argument saying that he is free of guilt in that instance. In this particular case no
information can be clearly deduced as to whether the motorist was truly guilty or not.
Whatever it is, what strikes one as the significant feature of this video is the attempt made by him to record this scene on his mobile phone on the assumption that he is about to be penalised to pay an unfair fine as imposed by the police which had provoked him to video the incident at which moment the said policeman tried to physically knock off the phone with his hand and even attempts to assault this motorist thus with the motive of preventing him from videoing the scene.
