Sahan -- Purnika separation ... made public
A sensational piece of news which circulated across the internet sometime ago was that Chathurika Peiris who was engaged to Roshan had separated from him and had made a romantic move towards Gayan. And by now what we have to report is news that the marriage of Chathurika's younger sister Purnika Peiris too has gone on the rocks and has had to separate from Sahan Abeysekera to whom she was married.
This phenomenon which remained a secret so far has been exposed by Sahan in public to a weekend newspaper and as such its secret is no more. This separation in fact was reported to us last September of an instance of her licentious behaviour and that she was caught inside a certain flat in the company of a popular programme presenter of Rupavahini channel and who has won a name in the music field as well. Sahan had made a statement in this connection to Mirihana Police and Sapugaskanda Police as well. After he had taken his child with him and has left the house, Purnika in turn has lodged a complaint with Maharagama Police. Subsequently this case was taken up for hearing at Children's Magistrate Court in Battaramulla last October 11th. Apart from the divorce, a legal case of settling matters related to the house, the vehicle and other things has now been filed.
The Sahan -- Purnika marriage has produced a 3 year old son and by now the two of them are living separately and courts have ordered separate dates for Sahan and Purnika to look after the child separately, it was reported. Following is what Sahan told about all about this yesterday to a weekend newspaper.
* There is a rumour to say that a conflicting situation has arisen in relation to married life.
That story is true.
* Do you like to speak about it?
No problem at all. But under legal limitations I can say from the standpoint of some legal restrictions. The other thing is, where that problem is concerned I am hundred per cent genuine no. So I have nothing to talk about it. Must speak in front of the media ... it's those who are guilty who should express those ideas.
* Isn't there a saying that husband-wife quarrels are 'only till the rice is cooked'?
Yes ... there's a saying like that. At the same time there's a saying that
'the crookedness of a dog's tail can't be straightened even if it's put inside a bamboo'.
* Most parents think of settling their mistakes and getting together under one roof for the sake of the children.
I thought like that at the start ... but now I don't think like that. Now I have come to a permanent conclusion.
* Because of faults of the parents isn't it children who become helpless Sahan?
My son will never become helpless. My son has his father.
* Will you Sahan take custody of the child?
Yes. My son is my life. I can't live without him. I'll take the child into my custody. I'll make a wholesome future for my son without letting him feel any shortcomings. That's my biggest hope.
