Strike abandoned without demands being fulfilled

The bus strike that was in operation throughout yesterday causing great inconvenience to the public was called off by midnight, bus associations that were instrumental in the strike had decided. 

This strike was launched forcing to make a demand that the fines of 25000 imposed by the budget be removed and it was so announced from 4 in the evening till 7 in the night through the
media too. They further mentioned that until their demands are met, the strike would be carried on continuously in the future. Whatever it is, the bus associations which abandoned the strike in the midnight had said that they would call off the strike as they had given consent to a meeting with the President. Whether this reason is the genuine reason or not is not clear. It is because even on the evening of the day before the strike they were not successful in achieving their demands after meeting the President and had proceeded to continue with the strike. 

According to ideas expressed by readers regarding this issue during the process of the strike was that most private buses plying about and earning their bread and butter this way have had to face a drop in their earnings while meeting requirements of high leasing costs on a monthly basis in the meantime. Therefore this decision of theirs is something which causes a loss to themselves. As such, what could be understood is that they are not in a position to embark on long-term strikes as such.
