Railway workers withdraw strike action

The strike that was scheduled by the railway unions from midnight of the 1st instant has been called off.

This has been after a discussion the President Maithripala Sirisena has had with the officials of the railway unions.Theunion representatives had said that they had received solutions to most of their

demands.In regard to the other demands would have to be discussed at national level.

The calling off of the strike has been announced by the joint peramuna representing the railway trade  unions.
