This is what he said: "It was told that I am not fit for the post of Defence Secretary. Then Prof. Sarath Wijeysuriya should prove it in courts. For the moment a letter of demand of Rs. 100 million has been sent. If somebody defames me there's no necessity to ask permission from the President to take legal action about it. What I asked was a compensation for having defamed me.
Prof. Sarath Wijeysuriya has responded to this. This is what he says: "I received the said letter of demand. I have already handed over the matter to an attorney-at-law to respond to it. We, as those representing the civil society are keeping an eye on how the government is proceeding. I have no personal grievances against the Defence Secretary. This allegation made on me is a figment of his imagination. I am prepared to respond to the allegations brought out by the Defence Secretary at the opportune moment".
