Owner of a boutique along Prathibimbara road Dehiwala arrested for abusing small children 

The officers of the Dehiwala police has received a complaint that the owner of a boutique along Prathibimbara road, Dehiwala had been abusing three small children alternatively for two days.On suspicion he had been taken into

custody and produced before the Magistrate's courts Mt Lavinia.

The Magistrate Ms Lochani Abeywickrema Weerasinghe had ordered him to be remanded until the 21at instant.

The accused is Luhasapala Vithanawasam who has been  owning and running a boutique along Prathibimbarama road, Dehiwala is 63 years old.

He is alleged to have abused three minor aged children  aged 10,11, 14 years from Badowita area in Mt Lavinia.When these children had gone to the boutique on the 5th instant he had given short eats,sweets and soft drinks and kept them inside the boutique and abused them.Then a following day he had got the children to come again.On a telephone call given to the police emergency the police had arrived and cordoned his boutique.

At that time he had been caught red handed abusing a child sexually.The suspect and the child had been arrested and obtained a statement from the child.All three children had been taken into custody and had been produced to the judiciary medical officer at the Kalubowila Teaching hospital for medical examinations.
