April 15th too declared a Public Holiday
The 15th Friday the day preceding the New Year holidays on the 13th and 14th Wednesday and Thursday has been declared as a Public Holiday.The President Maithripala Sirisena and Prime
minister Ranil Wickremasinghe have had discussions in this regard.
The Minister of Internal Affairs Vajira Abeywardena has hence declared Friday as a Public Holiday.
It has been taken into much consideration that as Wednesday and Thursday are also public holidays it would not be practical and prudent to have work on Friday particularly as 16th and 17th are also holidays been Saturday and Sunday.
