The Kuliyapitiya child who was to be isolated from society recently as a result of a misconception that he was infected with AIDS has now got the greenlight to gain admission to either Colombo

Ananda or Kandy Kingswood, reports have been published.

It is reported that Prime Minister Ranil Wickremasingha has had a discussion with the Principal of Colombo Ananda about this and that there is a strong possibility that the boy would be admitted to that school. In the meantime, considering the convenience of the mother, discussions had taken place in admitting the child to Kingswood Kandy and according to the wishes of the mother the government would be taking action for the child to be given one of those two schools. Prior to this, media reports were published that Kandy Trinity College was prepared to accept the boy. While the Education Minister stood his ground with a different proposition in relation to the child's education, what he had mentioned was the idea that the child be separated from the mother and be handed over to probationary care in order to adjust social attitudes.
