Only one traffic lane for vehicular movement along High Level road from Maharagama to Kottawa

The traffic police has made a change to the vehicular transport pattern to ease the usual congestion that prevails along the High Level road from Maharagama junction to Kottawa.Hitherto the traffic movement along High Level road from Kottawa to Maharagama junction was one way with four lanes.

As a means of easing the congestion to some extent it has been decided to allow one lane for the movement of vehicles from Maharagama to kottawa along the High Level road.

Accordingly the vehicles which had to take a route via Pamunuwa road from Maharagama junction to Kottawa will be able to use the single track lane allocated by the traffic police. It is reported that the Three wheeler stand and the route of the buses also would be changed. In this regard rehearsal would be held on Sunday from 9 am to 10 am and on Monday from 1 pm to 8.30 pm.
