The culprit who killed 07 beggars while sleeping on pavements in court
The suspect who was brought to court for the offence of killing seven persons mostly beggars
by dashing stones on their heads ,who were sleeping on the pavements in the night and grabbing their collections had been produced to the Mahara courts.
The case was heard once more on the Tuesday the 04th instant at the Mahara Magistrates courts. The Chief Magistrate of the Mahara Magistrate courts Mahinda Prabath Ranasinghe had to take a decision not to deliver his verdict as he had not received instructions from the Attorney General on a specific ruling to give a verdict.
In this contest once more the case had to be postponed until the 11th of next month pending instructions from the Attorney General’s office.
In the meantime the suspect by name Ana Liyanage who was in remanded had been ordered to be remanded until the 11th of net month.
The suspect had been arrested and then remanded from the year 2011 having been guilty of causing deaths to beggars who had been sleeping in the nights on the pavements at Peliyagoda, Kiribathgoda,Kelaniya and Colombo. After which he had been grabbing the collections the n=beggars have had in their possessions and his case had been postponed on several occasions.
