When the Minister Ravi Karunanayake's supporters were visiting house to house campaign on his behalf along Bloemendhal street,Kotahena the other day some gunmen who had come in a vehicle

and had shot at them by a T 56 rifle when one died on the spot and 15 were admitted to the National hospital for treatment. Subsequently one more person succumbed to death in hospital.

The deceased Siththi Nazeema;s family had disclosed after her death that her main aim to canvass for the United National party was to obtain a dwelling house for their family to live which had deprived them all this time.

According to her wishes the Minister Ravi Karunanayke had gifted a new house worth rupees seventy five lakhs to Siththi Nazeema’s family on the 05th instant.

On this occasion the elder daughter of Siththi Nazeema, Fathima Naheena had this to say.Our 

Mother’s fervent wish was to get a dwelling house for them to live.Tos=day her wish has come through but after sacrificing her life and we will be living without her in this dream house of hers. She had made her dream come true and had gone forever.

WE have got a new house with all new furniture. But she could not enjoy a single day with us in this house. But we had to lose our mother.
