TO SPEND FOR ELECTION

Former MP Vasudewa Nanayakkara who is contesting for Ratnapura District by representing

the Mahinda faction of UPFA at the forthcoming elections this time has published advertisements in several newspapers by quoting Account numbers soliciting money to carry on his election campaign.

It is reported that supporters of Vasudewa in Ratnapura area are engaged in a programme of selling tickets for collecting money for election activities. Former MP Reginald Cooray of Kalutara too left the election contest recently saying that it is difficult to win votes on a Preferential basis without money and thus joined the National List.
