Former Army Commander Daya Ratnayake to contest from Mahinda Faction

It is reliably reported that the former commander of the army Daya

Ratnayake is preparing to contest in the forthcoming general election under the United Peoples Freedom Alliance ticket in support of the former president Mahinda Rajapaksa faction.

After the retirement the former army commander had been offered a post as an ambassador but it is learnt that he has not accepted the post and is still in Sri Lanka.

It is also learnt that he is busy these days preparing himself to face the forthcoming general election as a candidate .
