Mumbai Indians clinches Indian IPL 2015, T20/20 trophy

The final of the Indian Premier League 08th edition of the
PIL Twenty Twenty cricket tournament was played yesterday between the Mumbai Indians and the Chennai Super Kings T20 teams. The Mumbai Indians defeated the Chennai Super Kings team by a margin of 41 runs to clinch the IPL 2015 trophy. This was the second time the Mumbai Indians had become the champion IPL team since the year 2013.The final was played at the Eden Gardens, Calcutta.

The skipper of the Chennai Indians Super Kings Mahendra Singh Dhoni had won the toss and elected to field.The Mumbai Indians scored 202 runs in the allotted 20 overs for the loss of 05 wickets. In reply the Chennai Super Kings could amass only 161 runs for the loss of 08 wickets in their allotted 20 overs.

Lasith Malinga in his four overs captured 02 wickets for 25 runs returned the best bowling figures for winning Mumbai Indians team.

However Rohith Sharma of Mumbai Indians who scored a swashbuckling 50 runs in 26 balls with 06 fours and 02 sixes was adjiducated as the “Man of the Match”.
