At Weligama a quarrel resulted owing to a pigeon had ended in a murder.

In the ‘turkey village’ area in Midigama, Weligama, after a quarrel between two factions

on the subject of a pigeon, one person 50 years old had sustained injuries  admitted to ‘Walana’ hospital had succumbed to death. It all had commenced and happened when two people who had come from elsewhere has had an argument with the son of the person who succumbed to his injuries. When he had intervened the two people had chopped the dead 50 year old with a gardening cutter and a sharp knife.

The two suspects have been taken into custody by the Weligama police while the dead body has been sent to the mortuary at the Matara hospital for the post mortem. The Weligama police are conducting investigations.
