Principals of Anula, Issipatana, D.S. Homagama Mahinda Rajapaksa, Rahula, Southland transferred with immediate effect!

Investigations have already begun on a number of

school principals under the present regime in connection with illegal transactions conducted by them. As such, those who are found guilty according to the transactions would be subject to transfers or else would be attached to another section of the ministry.

The Ministry of Education has taken steps to  transfer principals and 15 class teachers of 10 schools who have violated the circular which prohibited them from collecting money in an informal manner in the schools concerned. As such, principals and class teachers of Kiribathgoda Vihara Maha Devi Balika Vidyalaya, Mahanuwara Badiurdeen National School, Matara Rahula Vidyalaya, Kandy Nugawela Madhya Maha Vidyalaya, Galle Southlands Balika Vidyalaya, Galle Sanghamitta Balika Vidyalaya, Homagama Mahinda Rajapaksa Vidyalaya, Issipatana College of Colombo 5, D.S. Senanayaka of Colombo 8 and Anula Vidyalaya of Nugegoda have been brought under inspection and the suspects have been transferred and attached to the relevant places. A circular has been issued by the Ministry of Education on January 29th prohibiting collecting of money in an improper manner and the ministry says that a large number of complaints have been received by now.

Legal action has already been taken against principals and class teachers who have taken money by informal means, thus violating the circular and the Ministry of Education has taken steps in this respect over the principals concerned and the class teachers as well; under the relevant preliminary inquiries.

Apart from this, the Ministry of Education has said that a large number of complaints in relation to district schools and those have been forwarded to the Director of District Education.
