Brawl involving Mervin's son at Night Club -- updates 3

Here is the 'suddi' who was subjected ....   Malaka's harassment!

Melinda McKenzie the 24 year old girl who had come on a tour to Sri Lanka from Scotland in Britain was tried to be manhandled by the son of Minister Mervin Silva's at a night club, Rythm and Blues in Bambalapitiya sometime back, appeared in courts yesterday. She and
her supposed lover Scottish national Engineer James Francis were able to identify those who tried to harass them that night at an identification parade yesterday.

On the day of the incident, a group had entered the said night club and had approached the girl, her lover and a friend and had dragged the girl away to a side and had made an immodest demand on her. However when she refused it, she had been given several blows which resulted in cracking her lips, it was revealed in courts.

On this occasion the British national who came forward on behalf of the girl had in turn assaulted Malaka. On account of the serious blow, he had fallen on the floor. At this moment a team of Malaka's security guards had come to his rescue and had begun to deal blows to the British couple and their friend which ultimately resulted in a commotion.

Attorneys-at-Law had pointed out that a surgical operation had to be performed on Malaka's nose the following day because of the nasty blow he sustained and that the scars remain permanent.

Though a friend of Malaka had complained to police about the attack on Malaka, the police had taken steps to arrest Malaka first, based on CCTV footage and by then Malaka's security had vanished.

They were later taken into custody when they surrendered to police. Whatever it is, the foreign couple had not shown a liking to be present when the case was taken up initially for hearing.

27 days have elapsed since Malaka has been taken into custody.

Things were made easy yesterday as the foreign couple was produced in courts yesterday for the identification parade.

Malaka and his team of security were released on bail until 19th of next month for further inquiries in this connection.
