The winners and losers at IPL 2013 Auction
Ajantha Mendis wins the second highest bid


Yesterday the IPL auction for the year 2013 was held. Our mystery spinner Ajantha Mendis was auctioned as for the second highest bid. At the auction he was bought over for US$ 725,000/ (US dollars seven hundred and twenty five thousand)-This bid was made by the franchise owner of PUNE WARRIORS. The highest bid was made to buy GLEN MAXWELL of Australia. The bid was for a sum of US$ 1,000,000/ ( US dollars one million)
Sri Lanka all rounder THISARA PERERA became the third highest bidder when he was bought over for a sum of US$ 675,000/-( US Dollars six hundred and seventy five thousand ) by the owners of SUNRISES HYDERABAD. Another Sri Lankan all rounder SACHITHRA SENANAKAKE was bought over by the KOLKATA KNIGHT RIDERS owners for a sum of US$ 625,000/-( US Dollars Six hundred and Twenty five thousand)The other Sri Lankan players who were grabbed at the auction were JEEVAN MENDIS,AKILA DHANANJAYA and KUSAL PERERA. The former was bought for a sum of US$ 50,000/-(US Dollars fifty thousand) while the other two were bought over for US$ 20,000/ each-(SU Dollars twenty thousand each).
The Sri Lankan players who could not win bids were Dinesh Chandimal, Rangana Herath, Upul Tharanga, Prasanna Jayawardena,Farveez Maharaoof, Suraj Randiv and Kaushal Silva.
