The loyalist staunch follower, who came to Dudley Senanayake commemoration ceremony
Last Friday at the time of the ceremony organised yearly to commemorate Dudley Senanayake at Borella, a peculiar unusual incident had taken place.
On the 13th morning when the commemoration ceremony was in progress an unknown person had arrived on a push cycle with a garland to place it on the statue of Dudley Senanayake. When he went near the statue he was stopped by the police and was told that he could garland once the initial ceremonies are over.
“A ceremony....I was not aware. Each year on this day I come here early morning and garland my late leader as a staunch supporter and loyalist. I do this act each year and had done it for a number of years”.
Having said that he defying Police orders, garlanded the statue and went away. The distinguished gathering present on seen this incident, was astonished by this behaviour of the staunch loyalist of late Dudley Senanayake.
