Vehicle tax double increase!Cigarettes and alcohol price goes up!
Ministry of Finance and Planning has decided to increase the import tax of the motor vehicles with effect from today (31st). This was announced today morning in news.
Accordingly the prices of hybrid vehicles, petrol and diesel cars, vans, three wheelers and motor bikes will go up as never expected. According to the notice the taxes of the hybrids below Rs20000/- which was only 8% will go up to 14%, petrol cars which are below Rs10000/- which was 38% have been increased up to 85%. The petrol three wheelers of which the production tax was 8% had gone up to 40% and motor bikes had been increased from 24% to 51%.
Import tax of the vehicle spare parts too has been increased.
As announced by the Ministry of Finance and Planning the price of the cigarettes and alcohol too have been increased. Thus the price of a cigarette had been increased by Rs 1/- and the prices of liquor too will go up depending on its brand.
