'Walle Saranga' arrested in Dubai

Gamage Saranga Pradeep, also known as 'Welle Saranga', the main associate of Alagoram Jothi Reuben, alias 'Ganesharuban', a large-scale drug trafficker and a prominent criminal involved in terrorist activities, who is actively sought by Sri Lankan security forces as well as international police, has been arrested in Dubai. During this special search operation, which involved raiding his house in Dubai, eight other individuals who were with the suspect were also arrested by the police in that country.

The Dubai Police carried out this raid based on prior information provided by officers of the country's intelligence service, including the Director of the Central Criminal Investigation Bureau, who were engaged in operations to arrest the suspect named Lalith Kannangara, alias 'Bus Lalith'. At the time of the arrest, a stock of cocaine and ice drugs was also found in the possession of the suspects.

During this operation, which was carried out as a measure to suppress individuals directing organized crime in Sri Lanka from abroad, Dubai security forces have already launched a comprehensive investigation into Welle Saranga, who was hiding in Dubai and issuing various statements through social media. However, it is also stated that Dubai authorities have not yet officially informed the Sri Lankan government regarding this arrest.
