Total of corona cases rises to 77

5 corona cases were reported by today (21) with the total reaching 77, minister of health, Mrs. Pavithra Wanniarachchi said. These patients have been reported from Anuradhapura. By now, 3063 have been directed to quarantine at 22 quarantine
centres.

Government health authorities published statistics the number of patients numbering 50, 56, 62 etcetera by not including the Chinese lady who was identified as suffering from corona in Sri Lanka last January. However, when quoting the total number of cases as calculated from yesterday; it has been totalled as 72 with the Chinese lady included. The reason for this is that statistics had been worked out without making any distinction among races as such.
According to the daily corona data report released by epidemic diseases centre of the health ministry, as 10 this morning (21), no corona cases were reported within the last 12 hours that elapsed. The affected number of cases inclusive of the Chinese lady has been shown as 72. There are 245 suspicious corona cases all around the country by now. March 20th report is published herewith
