How business-woman of Unawatuna was brutally killed as the second attempt of the murderers

An incident where a hotel owner in Yakdehimula, Unawatunawas brutally murdered with her throat being slit and shot dead was reported last Friday. It is suspected that this murder is the work of her husband who is overseas and was carried out by a hired thug. What happened unexpectedly is that an attempt was made to commit the murder in the same manner on a
previous occasion and the suspect was apprehended by police last year. Assistant judicial medical officer of Karapitiya hospital, Dr. Mrs. Samadhi Dadeniya of who conducted the the post-mortem said that her death has been caused by the neck being severed by a sharp instrument and being shot at, it was reported.

It is Niluka Chamali Vilasitha (34), a mother of one child and the owner of a tourist hotel in Yakdehimulla who died at dawn last 10th. She had been at the restaurant inside the said hotel around twelve - ten in the night when two persons had come on a motor-bike and have committed this crime, it was revealed. There had been two employees on that occasion and when this murder took place, they had run away.The child of the deceased however has faced no harm. 

The lady who was subjected to murder is a resident of Aththaragoda in Unawatuna and her husband is presently abroad and there had been a conflict between the two for a period of time over a property matter, police say. Police further say that a contract was given for Rs. thirty lakhs by the husband to kill his wife and a thug-type woman and a male who agreed to accept the contract were taken into custody in June last year. This case is presently being heard in Galle magistrate court and this murder could be suspected as the husband's second attempt. Habaraduwa police are conducting further inquiries to arrest the suspects under instructions of Galle assistant superintendent of police.
