Black tigers (leopards) supposed to be extinct ... found from Sri Pada

A dialogue has emerged about black tigers supposed to be extinct in Sri Lanka being captured 'live' on a camera. Images on cameras installed by wild life department of these black tigers were seen and it was of a female, a male and two cubs, it was reported.

Some years before a black tiger was found dead after having got caught to a trap and an animal being
created with the use of its skin was reported. That creation was kept for public exhibition in Giritale. A scientific explanation has been given that these animals are created as a result of changes in colour and that they remain in cool and gloomy locations. They have been named the black tiger of Sri Lanka as a sub-species.

Black tigers are an extremely rare type of animal and have come into being because of a distortion in the genes, it is said. This animal was last found in Mawuldeniya area, Pitadeniya. Though the wild life department has informed that black tigers were newly found in proximity to Sri Pada but it has not been publicised specifically and was found captured on a camera.
