Pramod who unfortunately became victim by keeping phone to his ear and walking in the prohibited zone for pedestrians in Fort railway station!

An incident was reported of a youth who was knocked down by a moving train when he had been walking along the railway track in Fort railway station while in conversation from his mobile phone. 

This young man who served as a clerk at a private super-market in Colombo had come in the train and had been on his way to work when the said accident has taken place in the morning. He had arrived in Fort in the train from Rambukkana to Fort and having alighted from the train he had being
walking along the parcel trolleyway while engaged in a telephone call when this accident has happened. He had in fact struck by a train which had been moving towards Fort railway station from Hikkaduwa. 

What authorities said was that it was made compulsory for those who alight from the train to cross the flight of steps but that from a long period of time passengers have made it a habit to disregard these instructions also for purposes of facility and that this unfortunate accident was another result of such a case. Even sometime back an accident was reported as having occured at this same spot resulting in death. 

The deceased is a resident of Nittambuwa and is a twenty five year old boy by the name of Sanjeewa Pramod. Fort police are conducting further inquiries over the incident.
