Reasons to bring swords to mosque from China ... revealed

After the series of bomb attacks which took place last 21st, search operations around the island have escalated and a large number of swords have been found from various locations. 38 swords were gathered from houses of Muslims in Kollupitiya as well as from a mosque while 58 swords were found from a mosque in Maligawattha -- all amounting to a large number on the whole.

What minister Haleem said on this occasion was that those swords were brought to clear jungle areas.
In this connection, Mr. Ameen, a media correspondent and a leader of Muslim organisations said was that swords were kept to protect young women. A large number of swords, daggers and knives being found in mosques constantly being reported would contribute towards discord among communities -- so saying, the government he further mentioned that has made an appeal not to report those incidents hereafter. Most of those whose attention was focused in this respect hypothesised that those knives and swords were a part of the attack-strategy of ISIS and the fear accompanying it therefore increased even further. However, in the case of a surveillance carried out by police, reasons for most of those swords being handed over to mosques has not been understood as such.

After the Sinhalese - Muslim clash that flared up in Digana, Kandy -- some who are linked to mosques have indicated the necessity of getting ready for it under the susicion that those attacks would be targeted at their mosques too ad therefore have imported those weapons in advance. On the pretext of getting down a type of scythe. These swords in fact have been imported to this country from China. Equally so, all swords belonging to one particular category were selected and handed over to mosques. Other than this, some others had modified the knives and daggers using services of a smith's-shop and were keeping them ready in case that if an attack was launched ... to make a counter-attack, it was reported.
