Attorney at Law Kapila Gamage who appears on behalf of parliamentarian Mr. Wimal Weeravansha has said that an appeal would be made against the verdict given by the Colombo Commercial High  Court to the parliamentarian in relation to the publication 'Neththa venuwata eththa'.

In this instance if the sum of ten million which is to be paid to Mr. Tilvin Silva by Wimal Weeravansha under Intellectual Property Act is not paid, Attorney at Law of Janatha Vimukthi
Peramuna, Mr. Sunil Watagala has said that Mr. Weeravansha's list of assets will be produced before court. What Attorney at Law Kapila Gamage said was relief appeal requested in the complaint should be met and that as a copy of the case record has not been secured so far, a definite statement cannot be issued in relation to the damages. In this connection, what Attorney at Law Mr. Sunil Watagala who appeared on behalf of Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna said was that a copy of that judgement has not come to his possession so far.

In the meantime, Attorney at Law Mr. Sunil Watawala who expressed ideas about Chief Secretary of his party filing action in Colombo Commercial High Court against the publication "Neththa Wenuwata Eththa" authored by Wimal Weeravansha basing it on documents of the central committee of Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna said that according to the Intellectual Property Act it is a historic victory and that some letters written by secretary of the party, Mr. Tilvin Silva were subjected to discussion only within the central committee of the party. The attorney at law further pointed out that the said letters were stolen, a book was published, was sold and a profit has been obtained thereby and court has concluded that such acts tantamounts to violating the Intellectual Property Act. Under these conditions the court has decided that damages amounting to Rs. one crore(10 million) should be paid to Mr. Tilvin Silva of Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna and that if steps are not taken to pay that amount of money, according to legal provisions a list of assets of Wimal Weeravansha will be forwarded to courts.
