Inquiry over suspicion that IGP's voice is among Namal's voice recordings!

As a suspicion has cropped up that Inspector General of Police, Mr. Pujith Jayasundera's voice is detected in voice cuts of telephone calls in complaint lodged by Director of Anti-corruption Operations with Criminal Investigation Department in connection with assassination of diplomats, in order to check his voice recordings, IGP Mr. Pujith Jayasundera was summoned to appear before the government analyst. Accordingly, it is understood that he will appear before the department at 09.30

on Monday morning.

It is the first occasion that the IGP has been called to appear before Government Analyst Department. When checking on samples of voice recordings of Namal Kumara and former Deputy Inspector General of Police the latter of whom is presently in remand with relation to the relevant incident, the director general has mentioned that a check is to be made to determine whether IGP Mr. Pujith Jayasundera's voice is available in the voice cuts forwarded by Namal Kumara and thus the IGP has been summoned to Government Analyst's Department for that purpose. Director General of Government Analyst's Department, Mr. Ariyananda Welianga has further stated that operations will be carried out in that instance to secure voice samples of IGP.
