Youth who could not swim ... die in the presence of their lovers!

An incident of three young boys had arrived at Mawak Oya in Ingiriya in order to commemorate their happiness in having bought new motor bicycles and two of those boys had tragically drowned. 

They had come to Mawak Oya, Ingiriya yesterday to enjoy the happiness of having bought a motor bike by drinking some beer. On this occasion the three youth had arrived at Mawak Oya with three
girls supposed to be their girl friends and had begun playing with a plastic ball after getting into the waters by forming a circle. 

It was revealed in investigations that in one instance one boy has gone as far as ten meters to fetch a ball which has got thrown afar. on that occasion the other two boys had attempted to provide support to him by getting close to that point. However the two of them who were not good at swimming had gone back little by little and gradually had drowned from time to time by coming and going down in the waters, it is understood. 

The three girls had shouted out to the boy who advanced forward to fetch the ball in which instance he had managed to take these two boys ashore on two occasions. However the two of them were in an unconscious state with water seeping down their throats. the victims were transported to hospital by a Suwa Seriya ambulance; but by the time they were admitted, they had already passed away, police say. 

The deceased victims are an air-condition technician called Dasitha Dihara (21) living in Talangama North, Malambe and Dulip Liyanage (21) a resident of Samanala Mawatha, Talahena - Bagalawaththa, Malambe. Incidentally it was Dasitha who had bought a new motor bicycle. At the time they had come there to enjoy themselves they had brought two cans of beer with them and it was revealed at the inquiry that only one can had been drunk by the two boys. It was also revealed that both the boys has had no idea of swimming. the post mortem was expected to be held at Horana Basic Hospital.
